Brookside is a neighborhood located in Kansas City, Missouri, which contains the Brookside Shopping District. Brookside was planned and built in 1920. It was the city’s first suburban shopping area which boasted specialty, grocery and drug stores, medical offices, even a special community center, as well as the first south side police and fire stations.
