For the past 15 years, S & A Design Group has been making beautiful residential and commercial interiors throughout the Kansas City Metro Area and beyond. Owners, Sandra Burroughs and Allison Fikejs, are dynamic, award-winning designers who eagerly look forward to helping area homeowners beautify their homes with top quality home furnishings and exceptional interior decorating services.

Sandy and Ally skillfully craft designs in all styles – from Traditional to Modern, all the while addressing the specific needs and budgets of each client. With our breadth of products and services, we provide custom designed window treatments, custom furniture, wall coverings, floor coverings, lighting and accessories and more.

Sandy and Ally are also passionate about working to help others and serving the community at large. Our team participates in supporting Habitat for Humanity, Hillcrest Transitional Housing, The Kansas City Community Kitchen, The Veterans Home Project, The Yellow Ribbon Fund; just to name a few.

Customer service is a benchmark of our business – with good communication and going the extra mile – we bring our passion for design to our client’s homes and businesses.

Andrea Brown | Interior Designer

With 7 years of experience in the interior design community, Andrea has always had a creative side and a passion for design. Her creativity and love of helping others led her to take a class in high school about interior design. From then on she knew that this was what her true passion was and focused on making that dream a reality.

Andrea began her interior design career in Springfield, MO as an intern for a Decorating Den franchise and later obtained her degree in 2015 from Missouri State University. After graduating she wanted to learn more about the industry and has worked with bathroom design and fixtures, kitchen design & appliances, furnishing stores, and in custom cabinetry.

In 2021 Andrea reached out to the S & A Design Group, a Decorating Den franchise. She had a passion for the business and wanted to be back to where she had grown the beginnings of her career. Andrea has been a positive and bright addition to our team and always has a smile on her face. Her goal as a designer is to, not only make a space beautiful, but to make it an extension of the clients own self in their home and to provide a functional space for them to use in their daily life.

When not designing beautiful spaces, Andrea enjoys spending time in nature – often fishing with her fiancé Joe or taking a stroll through the neighborhood with their dog Cassie.

Emily Hedges | Office & Design Assistant

For the past 3 years, it has been our pleasure to have Emily as part of the S & A Design Group, a Decorating Den franchise. Emily is the most efficient, kind and friendly person and brings these qualities of character to work every day. She works diligently to organize all the parts and pieces of the design studio and the office, including marketing, tracking jobs and deliveries, installations, organizing the warehouse and much more.

As an extremely creative person in her own right, Emily is a very skilled craftswoman and gardener. She very ably works with our designers, whether pricing jobs or pulling fabrics or sourcing products, she is essential to the success of the team.

When not assisting the team, Emily is a Mom to her young son, Mason – who also enjoys occasionally coming to work with his mother, and adding his own creative design ideas and flare.
